K. B. Dixon’s A Painter’s Life is Oregon Book Awards finalist

Our congratulations go out to K. B. Dixon, author of A Painter’s Life. On Tuesday, January 25, Literary Arts announced the finalists for the 24th annual Oregon Book Awards. Among the finalists for the Ken Kesey Award for Fiction is Inkwater’s own A Painter’s Life. Already a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Award, Dixon’s book continues to accumulate accolades.

A Painter’s Life is an intimate, introspective tour of the art world through the microcosm of Christopher Freeze’s life. Focusing in part on Freeze’s friends, family, and fellow artists—as well as his relationship with his frazzled dealer and his would-be monographer—it is an inventive, seriocomic look at one peculiar man’s ceaseless struggle to make something beautiful.
