There is something quite special about listening to an author read a few select passages from their work.
That’s why we created Inkwater Authors Night, an opportunity for our talented authors to share their writing in a welcoming, comfortable space.
Consider joining us every second Friday of the month from 7 to 8 p.m. at Another Read Through at 3932 N. Mississippi Avenue to hear three Inkwater authors read from their books, answer questions about their process, and sign books for purchase.
Bring a friend to this free event, browse the store, and perhaps stop by one of the wonderful bistros nearby afterward.
Dr. John Fitchen
The tales in this book are about two grand passions: medicine and birds. Through the eyes of a physician and a birder, we witness the glory that is nature. From a remote Aleutian Island to his own backyard, and from the research lab to the bedside, we see what makes birders tick and doctors marvel.

“The Runes Revealed will challenge you to remove the tainted, distorted lens of patriarchal interpretation and start seeing the runes with clearer vision. Long before Odin, the Vikings or Christianity, the runes were.” –
Ingrid Kincaid, Author
“My work with the runes began with my hand in a leather pouch held by Ingrid. I drew Raidho, rune of the journey, and so began a sacred task of reweaving ancient wisdom.” –

The Ballad of Johnny Arcane: A Novel
Seven summers pass without a champion climbing the silo to claim the Cornfest Prize. Enter young Johnny Arcane, who brings down the hive of bees, the townspeople hefting him onto their shoulders, crying, “Arcane! Arcane!” The legend of Johnny Arcane is born, a saga of a reluctant hero on an epic journey, from his glory at Cornfest, through his shame at the Dolmens, to his most perilous quest-to cross the border between the known and the unknown worlds. The Blackcoats have captured his beloved Lucy, and Johnny must confront their evil commander. When the she-wolf guides him back to his homeland, Johnny finds his mother ailing and alone. At King Corn, the silo has fallen, the townspeople divided into bitter factions, while Blackcoats cross the border seeking vengeance. Is Johnny the one hero destined to save his troubled and crumbling world?
