City of Hamburgers a Finalist in ForeWord Book of the Year Awards

City of Hamburgers, by Mike Reiss of The Simpsons fame, was recently named a finalist in the 2008 ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Awards in their Children’s Picture Books category.

ForeWord’s Book of the Year Awards program was designed to discover distinctive books across a number of genres. According to the award committee, these books represent some of the best work coming from today’s independent press community.

At Inkwater Press, we are excited that this delightfully funny book for children is earning this well-deserved recognition.

Not that Mike and I are the same people as he has obviously beed not only discovered but has become a star in his own right. The thing that we do have in common is that we went to high school together (wow). Majoring in Elementary Ed, and after serving in the US Army, I did teach school for 5 years in the heart of Baltimore. During that time, I composed a childrens book that I cannot seem to get anyone to read. Just wondering if you would like to give it a look see. If you are interested, I will send the word file. Thanks, Eric
