Whispering Wires Reviewed in Oregon Historical Quarterly

Phillip Metcalfe’s Whispering Wires: The Tragic Tale of an American Bootlegger, a non-fictional account of bootlegging in the Northwest and the first major federal court case concerning the use of wiretaps, is reviewed in the Spring 2010 edition of the Oregon Historical Quarterly. The Oregon Historical Quarterly highlights Metcalfe’s extensive research and entertaining writing style, and also mention that Mecalfe would have become “a considerable figure in the non-fiction literature of the Pacific Northwest” if not for his unfortunate passing shortly after completing his manuscript for Whispering Wires.
