Other Lives, Other Times is an account of the life of Richard Katzev in the form of a collection of essays. They range from his childhood in southern California to his academic life in Portland, Oregon, with digressions in Italy and Hawaii. In this volume he writes about the people he loved, those who shaped his life, the ideas that meant most to him, as well his love of literature and the cinema. Katzev describes how he views them now, filtered through the lens of the long and fascinating times in which he lived.
