"So let's bicycle cross-country," Kara said.
"You didn't really mean that. That night at Rocky's, I thought you
were joking around," Tom replied.
"I said I would do it if you would, and you agreed."
"Okay, let's go," Tom said. He figured Kara had to be bluffing. He
couldn't even begin to imagine her living outside all summer. Of
course, he could do it. He had been camping before. When he was
much younger, he had even been in the Boy Scouts for a few years.
"All right, then. We better get organized." Kara wondered how long
Tom would go along with this game.
"So where do you want to start?" he asked. "Astoria or Reedsport?"
